Online Passport Application & MRP Renewal Services in Pakistan: Everything you need to Know

The Government of Pakistan with the collaboration of NADRA and Directorate General of Immigration and Passport has launched online passport application system for renewal of Machine Readable Passports (MRP) through e-service. Overseas Pakistanis (already holding MRP) can now apply for MRP renewal online.

E-Services Portal is the front door to Directorate General of Immigration and Passports for online service for Pakistani citizens around the world. Anyone with an expired passport or if its validity is less than 7 months would be able to ahead and apply for passports online and get the renewed passport delivered to a designated postal address.

This article will let you know all the supporting documents, requirements, application process and application fee for the renewal of passport.

Required Supporting Documents:

The following documents are required while applying for renewal of Machine Readable Passport through online passport service provided that his/ her current passport is expiring within a period of seven (07) Months:

• Color scanned copies of valid CNIC or NICOP or Smart CNIC or NICOP both sides
• Color scanned copies of existing Passport (First two pages and one random page asked by system).
• Color scanned copy of Valid Visa/ Aqama/ Residence Permit/ Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport

For Minors (Less than 18 Years)

The following documents are pre-requisite for issuance of passport to minors below 18 years:

• Color scanned copies of valid NICOP or Smart card (both sides) or Computerized B- Form or Family Registration Certificate
• Color scanned copies of mother and father valid National ID Cards (both sides)
• Guardianship certificate/ court decision in case of separation.
• Color scanned copy of minor’s attestation form (available in the download tab).
• Color scanned copy of Death Certificate if mother or father has passed away.
• Color scanned copy of Valid Visa/ Aqama/ Residence Permit/ Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport

Government Employees:

If the applicant is an employee of the Government of Pakistan, the following documents will be required:-

• Color scanned copies of valid CNIC or NICOP or Smart CNIC or NICOP both sides
• Applicant must provide No-Objection Certificate (NOC) in case he/ she is working as Government Officer/ Official, Armed forces Officers/ or employee of employee of Semi Government/ Autonomous Bodies/ Corporation. The NOC with be subject to confirmation/ verification by the department concerned.
• Color scanned copies of existing Passport (First two pages and one random page asked by system).
• Color scanned copy of Valid Visa/ Aqama/ Residence Permit/ Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport.

Note:

*Online portal is only for renewal of Machine Readable Passport. Following categories of passport s cannot be applied through Online Portal.*

New:

Issuance of Machine Readable Passport first time.

Modification:

In case applicants wants any changes in existing Machine Readable Passport i.e. name, father name, husband name, date of birth, caste, profession, dual nationality, marital status, religion and official to ordinary.

Reprint Exhaust:

In case applicant wants a new passport as all pages of previous passport utilized due to several visas/ frequent traveling.

Loss of Passport:

In case applicant’s existing passport has been lost (misplaced and not in his possession) and he wants a new passport.

In the above cases, the passport applicants are requested to approach nearest Pakistan Embassy/ High Commission/ Consulate General where MRP facility is available.

Requirements for Renewal of Passport:

Before applying please have the following ready:

• Supporting documents.
• Photograph up to 5MB captured as explained in the Photograph Tutorial.
• Fingerprint form, filled as explained in the Fingerprint Tutorial.
• Valid Credit Card for online payment of your application fee.

Application Process:

If you are visiting this website for the first time and are intending to apply for a machine readable passport, you may spend a few minutes reading this advisory. Now hold on and read carefully the whole application process for the renewal of passport:

• Make sure you have all the supporting documents with you while applying for renewal of passport.
• Click on the Get Started button.
• Register your account :
• In case you are within Pakistan, an SMS and email code will be sent to you for registration.
• In case you are abroad all required codes will be sent via email only.
• Create an application for Renewal of your machine readable passport and provide details for your application.
• Provide your address for machine readable passport delivery.
• Pay Fee through a Credit Card/Debit Card.
• Provide the required personal details.
• Provide your present and permanent addresses.
• Upload your photograph.
• Upload the supporting documents required by the application.
• Download the form, capture the 4 fingerprints asked by the system.
• Set the scanner at 600 DPI, JPEG/JPG and Grayscale. Scan and upload the form.
• Review the information you provided, sign the declaration and then submit the application.
