Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority (PAPA) has decided to initiate recruitment process for consultants and staff from next month, in order to provide clean drinking water to communities across Punjab.
The permission was granted to go ahead with the PC-1 of the project and several administrative matters, in a PAPA board meeting held at Governor’s House which was chaired by Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, who is also Patron-in-Chief of the authority on Wednesday.
Following the board meeting, Sarwar told The Express Tribune that his goal to provide clean and safe drinking water to the people of Punjab would be fulfilled at all costs. “The authority will ensure complete transparency in recruitment, procurement and all other affairs.”

The meeting which constituted a three-member Human Resource Committee under the leadership of PAPA Chairman Nawaz Saleem Mela, will initiate the recruitment process.
The meeting was attended by PAPA Chairman Nawaz Saleem Mela, Secretary to Governor Dr Rashid Mansoor, Board Member Gohar Ijaz, Senior Member Board of Revenue Babar Hayat Tarar and officials of the planning and development, public health, housing and local government departments.
Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority is a body working to ensure provision of clean drinking water to the people of Punjab. Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar at the initiation of this program last year had said that 50% people in the province were combating health issues whereas a lot had died.
The body is entirely made up of of ex-serviceman, serving bureaucrats as well as businessmen and not a single MPA or MNA from Punjab has been inducted.
