Shazia Murri recently announced that registration for the Benazir Income Support Program 2023 has reopened through the BISP 8171 Online Apply service. What is Benazir Income Program (BISP)?
Benazir Income Program is an Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) initiative, which aims to offer financial aid to deserving and impoverished families throughout Pakistan. Sometimes referred to as the Benazir Sponsorship Program, the primary goal of BISP is to provide monthly income to families who are experiencing financial hardship.
The Benazir Support Program was launched by the PPP government in 2008, and now the Muslim League (N) government is responsible for disbursing cash under the BISP program.
NSER Survey:
In the past, NSER representatives would conduct door-to-door surveys to gather information about households, including the number of occupants, the number of rooms, and the condition of the residence. They would also inquire about whether the home was owned or rented, as well as details regarding the family’s finances such as the number of siblings and monthly expenses.
This data, along with NADRA, was used to create a database that determined which families were eligible for the Benazir Support Program. Those who were deemed truly deserving and in need received financial assistance on a monthly basis.
NSER New Registration:
During the meeting, it was announced that the NSER registration process will be resumed to update the information of all households, including those not currently included in the program.

Once the survey is complete and all eligible families have been identified, those who qualify for the program based on their needs will receive a message on their registered contact number. These eligible families will receive financial assistance of nine thousand rupees every three months.
