TikTok has been under much fire after recent ban in India and now America also considering the ban on the app for good, things are not faring well for the social media video sharing app as a 20-year-old man, Malik Hamza, fell from the fourth floor of a building while shooting TikTok videos with his friends in Lahore’s Naseerabad early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred in the part of the city where Firdous Market is located, according to the police.
Belonging originally from Gujranwala, Hamza got off from work and joined his cousins and friends to shoot TikTok videos when the incident took place.
Hamza injured his neck, leg, and ribs during the fall. The doctors have declared his condition critical, confirmed his cousin Qaiser.
The police is investigating the matter for further details Previously, a young boy in Rawalpindi lost his life due to this TikTok craze as the teenager accidentally shot and killed himself while filming a video for popular video-sharing platform TikTok in Sikandarabad in June.
The police stated that the pistol was licensed and belonged to the boy’s father, a labourer.
In April, a 22-year-old man died after being hit by a train while shooting a video at the Jumma Goth railway station in Bhens Colony.
A boy, Sufyan, also was drowned in Sadiqa canal while filming a video for TikTok in Mandi Sadiq Ganj in Minchinabad, Bahwalpur district of Punjab.
In December, Ammar Haider, a 16-year-old boy, was accidentally shot dead while recording a TikTok video with his friends in Sialkot. The friends told the police that he shot himself by accident, though the deceased’s parents claimed one of his friends shot him.
Events like these are increasing by the day and PTA had also warned to control “obscenity, vulgarity and immorality through its social media platform”.
With PUBG being banned in the country due to the negative influence it had on the youth, TikTok needs to put together strict rules and regulations in order to stay clear of any such problems.
