The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has issued a new order for restaurants. Violations will result in fines and other penalties. Online retailers affiliated with the FBR will be banned. The FBR issued a formal notification.
According to a notification issued by the FBR on Wednesday, the amount of tax along with the retail price will have to be entered separately on the menu in restaurants.
Violations will result in fines and other penalties. Retailers affiliated with the FBR must comply with this order. Similarly, tax payable along with price tag on fabrics and textile products has also been made mandatory.
FBR amended sales tax Rules 2006 through an SRO 353 (1)12020.
It is also mandatory for all the retailers to point out prices and amount of tax separately on the worth tags attached with finished fabric and locally-manufactured finished articles of textile and textile made-ups and leather and artificial leather.
The decision came in when retailers selling fabrics within the local markets had started charging nuisance tax at the rate of 17% on retail price from consumers without mentioning an equivalent on the price tag.
