Saba Qamar & Bilal Saeed face Criticism after releasing teaser for new music video 'Qubool Hai'

After the much-hyped first look of Saba Qamar Directorial debut music video, “Qubool Hai”, by Farhan Saeed got much attention from the audiences, now after the teaser release, the fans are lashing out on Saba Qamar and giving her heavy criticism for making such a video in the much holy and respected Wazir Khan Mosque, upsetting the public.

This criticism arose after the teaser of the video was launched and the singer and the actor were seen dancing or merely twirling inside the premises of the mosque, which audiences have said is a highly impermissible thing to be done in such a holy place and the sentiments got hurt.

The historic mosque ‘Masjid Wazir Khan’ comes in the provincial capital under the administration of the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs department, and an official of the department, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that a production house had been given permission for the shooting in the mosque by the Assistant Director Tableegh e Tarbiyyat but the department was kept unaware of the shooting of the dance. However, the assistant director claimed that he had given permission for the Nikkah scene.

Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Syed Saeed Al Hassan Shah told the newspapers that they had taken notice of the video. “The department has ordered the suspension of the responsible officials. The report will be submitted in 3 days after the inquiry. Such irresponsible incidents will not be tolerated at all. The sanctity of mosques, holy places of worship will be maintained.”

Though Saba and Bilal in the caption clarified that “this is also the only sequence that was shot at the historical Wazir Khan Mosque”

“The BTS video that’s making rounds on social media was just a circular movement to click stills for the poster of ‘Qubool’ depicting a happily married couple right after their Nikah. Hurting or offending anyone or being disrespectful to a holy place is as unimaginable and unacceptable for me as for any decent human being.”

“Despite this, if we have unknowingly hurt anyone’s sentiments we apologise to you all with all our heart,” they added in their post.

Though now the people are not taking any excuses and have just lashed out on both the artists.

People have compared what Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed are doing as Muslims and what Kate Middleton did while being non-muslim.

Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar went on to apologize for the act on his twitter.

The video has been Written, Composed and Produced by the award-winning singer, Bilal Saeed.
