Imran Khan arrested in Islamabad

Rangers have detained Former Pakistan PM and PTI chief Imran Khan, in the Al-Qadir Trust.

He was taken into custody outside the Islamabad High Court, where he had gone to request bail for multiple FIRs lodged against him.

The law enforcement agency transported him in a black vigo. Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, confirmed the arrest and stated that Imran Khan was apprehended in the Al-Qadir Trust case. He also assured that the situation was under control.

According to Fawad Chaudhry, a high-ranking member of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, the 72-year-old was detained on Tuesday at the court premises by agents from the National Accountability Bureau, which is responsible for combating corruption in the country.

Local media’s video footage revealed that Khan was accompanied to a Rangers vehicle.

The PTI claimed in a tweet that Khan was “abducted” by Rangers. The party urged the courageous people of Pakistan to come forward and safeguard their nation.
