Singer Rahim Shah has become the latest celebrity in Pakistan to have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The manager said doctors have advised Rahim Shah to isolate at home for 24 hours while taking precautionary measures. If his condition deteriorates, the singer would be shifted to the hospital.
The singer broke the news on Twitter and wrote: “This is to Inform you all that I am diagnosed as Covid Positive and staying In Self Isolation. Please take this seriously for the safety of every pakistani as it is not a joke and do pray for my fast recovery. Jazakallah Khair.#needprayers”

According to the singer’s manager, Shah is quarantining in his house after developing some symptoms. He said that doctors have advised the singer to wait for 24 hours while adopting precautionary measures.
Earlier, some other famous Pakistan television stars including Nida Yasir, Yasir Nawaz, Alizah Shah, Sakina Samo, Salman Ahmed Naveed Raza and Rubina Ashraf tested positive for COVID-19. Rubina was later rushed to the hospital but is now doing better.
Even comedians Vasay Chaudhry and Shafaat Ali tested positive for the virus, and are now quarantined. A number of Pakistani politicians including Railway Minister of Pakistan Sheikh Rashid and former prime minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Shahbaz Sharif have also tested positive for coronavirus.

According to official figures, the nationwide tally of COVID-19 patients in Pakistan crossed 100,000. The virus has claimed at least 2,000 lives and more than 34,000 patients have recovered so far.
