MG HS PHEV Gets a Charging Upgrade – Making Daily Drives a Lot Easie. If you’ve been eyeing a plug-in hybrid SUV in Pakistan, chances are the MG HS PHEV has been on your radar. It’s already made waves for combining solid performance with eco-friendly driving—but until now, one common complaint lingered: the long charging time.
MG Pakistan has just rolled out a key update for the HS PHEV—every new unit will now come with a 7KW fast charger as standard, replacing the slower portable charger. What does this mean for drivers? Simply put, much quicker charging. Instead of waiting around 8.5 hours for a full charge, you’ll now be ready to go in nearly half that time.
This change follows direct feedback from early adopters. Since the SUV launched in late 2024 and local production began in January 2025, over 500 units have already hit the roads. While most buyers praised its design and smooth electric-hybrid performance, many noted the overnight charging delay as a drawback.
MG seems to have listened. “This is more than just a tech upgrade,” said Syed Asif Ahmed, MG Pakistan’s General Manager of Marketing. “It’s about improving everyday convenience for our customers and helping them truly experience the benefits of hybrid mobility.”
The new fast charger, normally priced at PKR 235,000, is now included with the HS PHEV at no additional cost. The older portable charger will still be available separately as an accessory for those who prefer having a backup.
For urban drivers, this update could be a game changer. With a +50 km pure electric range, smart safety features, and reduced fuel costs, the MG HS PHEV already ticked a lot of boxes. Faster charging just makes the decision easier for those considering a switch to cleaner driving.
