Orange Line Metro Train Lahore Starts Commercial Operation

Orange Line Metro Train in Lahore is Now Open

As announced by Punjab Government, the orange line will start operating from today.
Metro-rail will operate from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, serving all 91 stations. Trains will operate normal service on the Red, Yellow and Green lines, with service adjustments on the Blue, Orange and Silver lines due to scheduled maintenance.

Red Line:

Trains operate every 12-15 minutes.

Blue Line:

Trains operate every 34 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Eastern Market only.
Customers traveling to/from stations between Eastern Market and Largo should use the Silver Line; transfer at Metro Center or L’Enfant Plaza.

Orange Line:

Trains operate every 34 minutes. Due to switch replacement, trains will single track between Eastern Market and Cheverly.

Silver Line:

Trains operate every 34 minutes. Due to switch replacement, trains will single track between Eastern Market and Addison Rd.

Yellow Line:

Trains operate every 15-20 minutes. Due to fire system upgrades, trains will single track between U Street and Georgia Ave-Petworth after 10 p.m.

The features of the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project are as follows:

• Total length: 27.1 Km (Cut & Cover section: 1.72 Km; Elevated: 25.4)
• Total Stations: 26 (Elevated stations: 24 & Cut & Cover stations: 02)
• Rolling Stock Requirement – 27 Train sets at the start of operations
• Ridership: 245,000 passengers per day
