One major highlight that caught the attention was the song ‘Rang De Chunar’ sung by the famous Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. From the song’s theme, use of colours, to Ainy Jaffri’s makeup and acting, everything leads us to reminisce Bhansali’s Films. Directed by Haissam Hussain and produced by Sadia Jabar, the movie’s teaser give us a glimpse of the qawwali song ‘Rang De Chunar’, sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and choreographed by Wahab Shah.
We might not be to call it a copied but let’s appreciate the fact that Pakistani industry has started to bring movies and projects that are aesthetically divine.
Before we say anything else, take a loot at the first song, ‘Rang De Chunar’ sung by the famous Rahat Fateh Ali Khan:
The designing and the art directions will remind you of Sanjay Leela’s hit Bollywood movies such as Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and Ram Leela.
Now let’s break it down, scene by scene:
Do we need to say anything about the movie’s poster
Ainy Jaffri’s look is strikingly similar to Aishwarya’s iconic ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Look, they even have a boat similar to that in Sawariya movie
Pakistani Cinema is improving at a gradual pace to produce new movies in every genre but unfortunately, most of them fail to impress in comparison to their Bollywood counterparts. With the recent ban on Bollywood movies in Pakistan, this is a golden opportunity for filmmakers to cash on the market gap.
It’s not that Pakistani Movies aren’t doing the rounds over International level, movies like Moor have broken all the records and boundaries and have set an example. however, we still lack certain areas where our industry can optimise and can bring out the best the world has seen. After watching the first look of the upcoming movie ‘Balu Mahi’ we can say that our film industry will soon be giving Bollywood a major competition in terms of visual appearance and the story lines.
The romantic story is scheduled to release on February 10, 2017. Till then, check out some awesome stills from the movie here:
