Canada Reduces Visit Visa Processing Time for Pakistan

Exciting news for our Pakistani friends! Canada has just made the visa application process a whole lot quicker. In a recent announcement, Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Sean Fraser, revealed that Pakistani applicants can now expect their visa to be processed in a lightning-fast two months! That’s right, you read that correctly – two months. This exciting development is sure to make the dreams of many Pakistanis wanting to visit Canada a reality in no time.

“Pakistani citizens will be able to receive Canada’s visit visa in 60 days instead of 802 days,” the minister said.

The minister also promised to accelerate the visa processing time and bring it down to one month.

Taking to his Twitter, the minister wrote: “Visa processing times are not 802 days for new applications. Currently, a complete TRV application from Pakistan will be processed in 60 days, and we expect to hit 30 days in the near future.”

The minister explained that the visa processing time on the website reflects the handling of older applications from the pandemic-induced border closures, which takes up to 802 days.

“We’ve reduced the backlog for Pakistani TRVs significantly, from 55K to less than 15K,” he added in his tweet.

The minister of Canada also informed about the establishment of a new processing center in Islamabad to increase the capacity for processing and conducting interviews in the Indo-Pak region.

In a tweet, he expressed gratitude to Paul Chiang MU, Yasir Naqvi, Shafqat Ali, Sameer Zuberi, Salma Zahid, and Iqra Khalid for their ongoing support to the Pakistani community residing in Canada.
