Designer Maria B. creating 1000 Masks for Covid-19 relief efforts

Ever since Covid-19 pandemic hit Pakistan and Lockdowns got implemented, famed Designer Maria B. has been in the social media limelight for one reason or the other. Previously going viral on social media due to her video where she requested the assistance of authorities to release her husband, who was wrongfully arrested for sending off a corona positive cook back home instead of placing under quarantine, now Maria B. is again trending on social media.

Maria B. along with being a successful designer is also a social activist where she provides awareness and funds for different causes in order to help the needy and poor of the society.

She has recently launched the campaign in which she has set out to make 1000 masks a day for the protection against Covid-19 virus and distribute it to as many people as they can.

In a recent post on the charity’s Instagram, Maria B. posted a video with caption, β€œ#MASKSFORALLPAKISTANWe are currently producing 1000 masks a day in both cotton and 25 GSM approved fabric & are partnering with NGOs to distribute these to as many ppl as possible & our LEAs. Everyone needs to wear a mask… We will get through this together.. #Masks4all”

In a press release, Maria B stated, β€œThe brand has always taken steps to help out Pakistan and its people wherever possible. Through our Maria.B Cares initiative we have collaborated with various organisation, government and private sectors in doing what we can, be it fighting against COVID-19, providing rations, healthcare, education or the environment. We do what we can and encourage everyone to join hands and do whatever they can to build a prosperous nation.”

The brand revealed that the team is also working closely with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) by providing them with masks, industrial/ pocket sanitizers, PPE suits, gloves, face shields, caps as well as shoe covers.

Maria B.cares in the past has also partnered up with many welfare organizations like Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Edhi Foundation and many more in order to eradicate many problems from the lives of the poor of our society and also preserve our environment.
