The first trailer of Mazhar Moin’s upcoming short film “Bheetar” starring Lollywood’s renowned actress Juvaria Abbas has finally been released. Since its release, the trailer quickly became the talk of the town for including extremely bold scenes. The Pakistani media industry is growing with each passing day, but still, the mainstream media is restricted from showcasing bold content such as LGBTQ on our TV screens and Theatres. However, with the rise of different OTT Platforms, filmmakers now have the leverage to express extremely bold content to the public without any hassle.
The bold short film, Bheetar is probably the first Pakistani film that narrates the tale of a woman who is in love with another woman. In the 37 seconds teaser, we can see Juvaria Abbasi ringing the temple bell as she enters the shrine. In the next shot, the trailer shows Juvaria marking sindoor on another woman’s forehead as she confesses her love for the woman. Then the trailer continues with Juvaria telling the tale of Ganga in the background.
The LGTBQ-based ‘Bheetar – A love story’ is written by Maahir Kamal and has been presented by Meem Kahani. The cast includes Juvaria Abbasi, Manal Siddiqui, Zohaib Bux & Usman Chaudhry. Here, check out the trailer.
