The Punjab government is considering a week-long eid holiday for government employees on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to our correspondent, a meeting is underway under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar in which Law Minister Raja Basharat, Industry Minister Aslam Iqbal, and other important ministers and government officials are participating.
The meeting is considering a proposal for a week-long holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr for the employees of provincial departments. The holidays will be from Monday, May 25 to Sunday, May 31. After the formal approval of the Punjab Chief Minister, the Punjab Home Department will issue a notification.
On the other hand, a proposal to close public transport and parks during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays is also under consideration.
