The Pakistan Super League’s eighth edition has successfully kicked off yesterday (13th February 2023) with a spectacular opening ceremony and the opening match of defending champion Lahore Qalandars against Multan Sultans at Multan Cricket Stadium. Cricket fans in Karachi have also started booking their tickets for the PSL 8 matches in the city and are looking forward to a wonderful cricket experience. In this regard, The Karachi traffic police have announced a traffic diversion plan as the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8) matches are to be played from February 14 to 26 here at National Bank Cricket Arena Karachi.
”A special traffic plan had been prepared for parking and alternative routes for cricket fans during the PSL 8 matches in Karachi,” according to the police spokesman.
According to the details, media persons who are planning to come from Karsaz should park their vehicles at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground, on Sir Shah Suleman Road via Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road, Stadium Flyover. On the other hand, Media persons who will be coming from Millennium Mall should park their vehicles at The National Coaching Centre, China Ground, on Sir Shah Sulaiman Road on the right side of the stadium flyover, after passing through Stadium Road (Pir Sabghatullah Shah Rashidi Road).
The spokesperson also said that Media persons coming from New Town should park their vehicles at the National Coaching Center/China Ground on Sir Shah Sulaiman Road on the left side after Aga Khan Hospital via Stadium Road (Pir Sabghatullah Shah Rashidi Road).
Parking For Cricket Fans:
Cricket Fans who are coming for the PSL 8 matches from different areas of Karachi can park their vehicles at Dalmia near Garib Nawaz Football Ground.
Also, make sure to bring your original CNIC and match tickets with you as it will be mandatory to show the identity card and the match tickets for parking. From there, you will be taken to the National Stadium by shuttle service.
Moreover, traffic will be prohibited to go to Stadium Road from Liaquatabad No. 10, Hassan, Square Bridge. Also, traffic will not be allowed to move towards the stadium from University Road’s Expo Centre turning. All types of heavy traffic will also be prohibited to go from Stadium Signal to Hassan Square. However, traffic will be allowed to run from Stadium Road to Hassan Square.
The official also requested the public to ”cooperate with law enforcement agencies, traffic police to avoid trouble, and that citizens should follow the instructions, and should not park cars, or motorcycles on any service road or main road “
