Pakistani, Indian celebrities grief the death of Wajid Khan

Singer-composer Wajid Khan of music director duo Sajid-Wajid has passed away within a few hours after being tested positive for coronavirus. The 42-year-old singer had underlying kidney issues.

“He died of a cardiac arrest,” brother Sajid Khan confirmed to PTI Music composer Salim Merchant added, “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical,” Salim said.

A source close to the family revealed to news agency PTI that Khan was buried around 1 PM, today. Because of the coronavirus-induced lockdown in Mumbai, only 20 people were allowed for the funeral with police security and barricades. “Only close family, including brother Sajid and friends from the industry were present,” the sources said.

Wajid Khan is famous for musical work on films like Wanted, Dabangg and Ek Tha Tiger and many more.He made his Bollywood debut with the film “Pyaar Kiya Tou Darna Kya”.
Sajid–Wajid had composed IPL 4 theme song “Dhoom Dhoom Dhoom Dhadaka”, with Wajid singing the title track.
