The first official trailer for The Marvels, Marvel Studios’ upcoming movie showcasing a formidable ensemble of female superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has been unveiled. Brie Larson’s portrayal of Captain Marvel a.k.a Carol Danvers, Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau come together in a cosmic quest to rescue the universe.
At the start of the trailer, a gripping sequence shows Rambeau, who is now a captain stationed at S.A.B.E.R. Space Station, collaborating with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). As Rambeau approaches a jump point in the space-time continuum, she metamorphoses into Ms. Marvel, exposing the fact that she, Danvers, and Khan possess extraordinary abilities.
The plot thickens as Danvers’ responsibilities lead her to a peculiar wormhole linked to a Kree rebel, where her abilities intertwine with Kamala’s and Monica’s. This unlikely triumvirate must learn to collaborate to rescue the universe.
Additionally, the movie features Park Seo-joon, Saagar Shaikh, Zenoiba Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Zawe Ashton. The director, Nia DaCosta, co-wrote the script with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells, becoming the first Black woman and the fourth woman to direct an MCU film.
