Meet Zhu Zhu: Salman Khan’s Leading Lady in Tubelight

Zhu Zhu is the Chinese actress who left the likes of Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra behind to be the leading lady of Salman Khan’s much-awaited movie, Tubelight.

The porcelain-faced beauty is not new to foreign languages or cinema industries as she has been a part of international projects like What Women Want, Shanghai Calling, The Man with the Iron Fists, Last Flight. She also plays a substantial role in Netflix’s TV series, Marco Polo.

Zhu Zhu — the 32 years old Chinese star rose to fame with her VJ-ing stints for MTV China. A little digging reveals her various shots from the sets of Tubelight in Ladakh with Salman Khan and Kabir Khan.

The movie, Tubelight is a war drama based on the 1962 Indo-Sino war. Zhu Zhu has been learning Hindi and working hard to adopt to Bollywood-style movies since August 2016. The movie is set to release on Eid 2017.

Zhu Zhu is 5 ft 4 inches tall and a graduate of Beijing Technology and Business University, where she majored in electronics and information engineering.

For her role in Tubelight, she said, “I received the script of Tubelight and I was deeply touched by the spirit of the film and I am sure this is going to be another amazing experience in my career and in my life. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work with Salman Khan. I have seen his films and I’m very much charmed by his talent. Kabir Khan is not only a brilliant filmmaker but also in his films he always talks about humanity and love and ordinary people’s lives which everyone in the world can relate to, I am honoured to be a part of Tubelight.”
