Capri Cinema in Karachi resumes screening movies after lock-down ends

The Sindh government has issued a notification lifting the lockdown restrictions across the province. Restrictions on cinemas, theaters, hotels and restaurants have also been lifted. And after 5 month-long closure due to lockdown, Karachi’s oldest theatre “Capri Cinema” is now finally screening movies once more.

The decision has been taken in light of discussions at the NCOC and the National Coordination Committee (NCC), which agreed “to allow economic activities to lessen the economic burden on the population to the maximum possible extent while following precautionary measures”.
However, wedding halls and schools will remain closed until September 15. On August 14, Capri Cinema started its operations.

The cinema will be following a strict guideline of SOPs and no one will be allowed to enter without a proper mask.

It screened Hollywood star Vin Diesel’s movie “Bloodshot” which was available on three different shows.

Ever since the lockdown has been lifted, the city is livening up with activity across town picking up again.
